SYNTHESIS AND MOLECULAR STRUCTURE OF THE COMPLEXES OF TRIMETHYL- AND TRIBUTYLTIN CHLORIDE WITH 3-(3-BENZOYL THIOUREIDO) PROPIONIC ACID
Abstract
Both trimethyl- and tributyltinchloride formed complexes with 3-(3-benzoylthioureido) propionic acid with molecular formula of R3Sn(C11H11N2O2S) where R is methyl and butyl groups respectively. The complexes crystallized in monoclinic system with P21/c space groups and the unit cell dimension are a= 13.854(3) , b= 10..839(2), c= 12.871(5)Å, b=113.928(3)º, V= 1717.8(2) Å 3 and Z=4 and a= 15.768(4) , b= 9.666(4), c= 18.235(5)Å, b=104.209(4)º, V= 2696.1(12) Å 3 and Z=6 respectively. The polymeric nature of the complexes in the solid state provide the formation of the distorted trigonal bypiramidal geometry for the central tin atoms which coordinated to the ligand via both the hydroxyl and carbonyl oxygen atoms. The bond length between tin atom and the carbonyl oxygen atom in both complexes is longer than the Sn-Ohydroxyl
