Korelasi Kandungan Pb Dalam Tubuh Organisme Sesil Dengan Pb Dalam Air Dan Sedimen Pada Ekosistem Terumbu Karang Di Teluk Lampung

Abstract


This research was aimed to examine the lead (Pb) content in water, sediment, and
sessile organisms’ bodies (karang folios and Patina) living in coral reef community in
Teluk Lampung. Five islands of varied distance from the source of pollutant, Bandar
Lampung, were observed. The islands are Pulau Pasaran (1 km), Pulau Tangkil (6.6
km), Pulau Tegal (12.9 km), Pulau Condong (14.2 km), and Pulau Puhawang (23.3 km).
Water, sediment, coral foliose, and Padina were sampled from the islands and were
analysed the Pb-content using AAS apparatus. Dissolved Pb from the islands
successively are 0,143, 0,136, 0,142, 0,127, dan 0,112; while sedimentary Pb are
0,032, 0,073, 0,021, 0,083, dan 0,071. Pb burdened in foliose reef as well as in Padina
bodies were assessed only in four islands, i.e. Tangkil, Tegal, Condong, and Puhawang
(because of no living coral dan algae found in Pulau Pasaran). Lead content in reef of
the islands successively are 0,894, 0156, 0,218, and 0,121; while in Padina bodies are
0,154, 0,129, 0,269, and 0,057. Coeficients of correlation among the parameters are
mainly less than 0.5 except between Pb in Padina and salinity (0,724), between Pb in
Padina and visibility (0,528), as well as between Pb in Padina and Pb in sediment
(0,549). Based on the results above it can be suggested that lead contained in water,
sediment, benthic organisms has exceed the optimum thresholds for aquatic life. Leads
burdened in reef and Padina were higher than that of in water as well as in sediment, yet
there was no significant correlation between dissolved or sedimentary leads and that of
coral or algal.
