PENELITIAN PENDAHULUAN PEMBUATAN BIODISEL DAN BIOETANOL DARI Chlorella sp SECARA SIMULTAN
Biodiesel from microalgae is a renewable biofuel that has the potential to completely replace transportation fuels derived from petroleum without interfering with the provision of food and other plant products. Microalgae Chlorella sp types of oils and carbohydrates contain high enough so that it can be used as raw material for biodiesel and bioethanol. Powder Chlorella sp with n-hexane dimestirasi separated chlorella sp algae oil and residue. Algae oil biodiesel made with the process - oxidation - esterification - Biodiesel-transesterification, while the residue chlorella-made bioethanol by hydrolysis-fermentation process. The research aims to make biodiesel and bioethanol from microalgae simultaneously. Based on GC-MS analysis of algae oil is the dominant FAME components obtained palmitic acid (C16: 0) as much as 73.34, stearate acid (C18: 0) about 1.51%, linoleic acid (C18: 2) as much as 4:31. As for the characterization of biodiesel obtained by acid number 4.488 mg / g of biodiesel and saponification number 196.35 mg/g biodiesel. Microalgae dregs hydrolyzed with time variation for 15 and 30 minutes using an autoclave and the calculated glucose produced during incubasi 0, 24, 48, 72, and 96 hours subsequently fermented using yeast Saccharomyces cereviseae strain fali for 0, 6, 12, 20, and 24 hours. Hydrolysis at 15 minutes with a time of 72 hours incubasi produce good glucose 1.3 mg/ml and a good fermentation time of 6 hours. Ethanol content is determined by the method of alcholol dehydrogenase assay so that it can be concluded that the optimum fermentation time microalgae Chlorella sp type that is 6 hours.
