ADSOPSI Pb(II) OLEH KITOSAN TERLAPISKAN PADA ARANG AKTIF CANGKANG KELAPA SAWIT
The research focuses on the chitosan solubility of comparison between active charcoal with chitosan, optimum pH adsorption Pb(II), equilibrium time, capasity adsopstion and recovery of chitosan coated oil palm shell active charcoal. The result showed that at pH=2-7, the lowest chitosan solubility at comparison of active charcoal which chitosan coated was 1% ( 1 g of chitosan was added to 100 ml of 10% oxalic acid) with 1 g active charcoal. The optimum pH adsorption of Pb(II) by active charcoal which chitosan coated occured at pH range of 2-5 with amount of Pb(II) adsorbed was 97.76 to 98.58 %. The equilibrium time of chitosan coated oil palm shell active charcoal was 45 minutes. Using Langumuir isotherm model, the capacity for the chitosan coated oil palm shell active charcoal was found to be 10.03 mg Pb /g. The recovery of chitosan coated oil palm shell active charcoal was 71,55%.
