AUDIENCE RESPONSE SYSTEMS SEBAGAI ALTERNATIF MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN INTERAKTIF DI UNIVERSITAS

Abstract


Audience Response Systems (ARS) is an alternative of studying media in the form of information system to facilitate university student to respond in the numerical data form or categorical toward question arise in the lecture in which the response is presented in feedback for student and lecturer.  The response was presented statistically in a histogram, pie chart or other statistic display. Audience Response Systems (ARS) grew up due to demand in interactive studying media is appropriate to the need of study at the universities where the process of study is not one way, but two way processes between students and lecturers. The development of computer science, especially, information system in developing the media tools which was able to accommodate the need of the study process in the form of Audience Response Systems (ARS). In its implementation at the universities, ARS was proven to have some competitive advantages, i.e., study effectivity, cost efficiency, interactive study and increase of student motivation. In this paper will be presented the basic concenpt of ARS, the competitive advantages compare to other studying media, implementation and implication of ARS for study process and knowledge sharing at the universities.
