ANALISIS NUMERIK STUKTUR OPTIK 2-DIMENSI DEVAIS FOTONIK MENGGUNAKAN METODE TENSOR GREEN

Abstract


This research is purposed to generate and analyze numerical model of electromagnetic wave propagation in the TM mode 2-dimensional photonic crystal as waveguides to calculate the strength of electric field. Analyzing the effect of variations the distance between the grating (a) and variation of the cylinders’s number. This research included descriptive research using a numerical approach. The numerical approach is Tensor Green method. Furthermore, the method is designed by using software program Matlab 2007. Generally the result is a model of electromagnetic wave propagation in the TM mode 2-dimensional photonic crystal as waveguides to calculate the electric field. The electric field strength has value in the channel region, while the value in areas outside line defects closed to zero, the strength of electric field is stronger along with the TM mode propagation of electromagnetic waves in the gastrointestinal defects. So it can be analyzed the influence of variations in lattice spacing (a) and the variation of the cylinders’s number. The distance between the grating is inversely proportional with the wide of bandgap, if the distance between the grating is smaller the wide gap beame more bigger, so the electromagnetic wave propagates well in the wide gap. The narrow slit will affects the leakage cylinder in electromagnetic wave propagation. Variations in the number of cylinders that are used to make the line defects also affect the propagation of electromagnetic waves, the fewer number of cylinders will make leak. So the electromagnetic wave propagates outward line defects.
